Lincoln County, officially designated "Post Rock Capitol
of Kansas" by the Kansas Legislature, is located in the heart of Post Rock Country
and it has four principal communities: Lincoln, the county seat,
Sylvan Grove, Barnard and Beverly. The county is
famous for its rolling hills, rich farmlands, and limestone quarries. The
Lincoln area boasts of its small-town friendly atmosphere, energetic citizens,
excellent schools, good health care systems, an active art center, and a
variety of
attractions, including many buildings on the national and state
registers of historic places. It is a wonderful place to visit and live. Explore our site,

There are two calendars on this website. Fourth down in our sidebar directory you will find a "Calendar of Events" just below the Business Directory. This calendar is a master calendar of major festivals that fall on specific dates during the year. Click on the "Calendar for Local Use" to see smaller events that occur ad libitum throughout the year.
Thinking of visiting the Lincoln County area?
If you are thinking of visiting Post Rock country, please click on "Visiting Us" found in the headers in the top left hand column of this page. There you will find lodging, food services, hunting/fishing information, and other interesting things about our area. A BONUS for the visitor is that you will find coupons that entitle you to various discounts throughout our county. A visit to "Attractions and Events" will tell you what's happening!
Don't forget about our monthly chamber luncheons, where you can get involved with the community and find out what's going on all over Lincoln. The luncheons are held once a month on the third Wednesday of the month at noon in the community room of the Finch Theatre. The cost for lunch is $8 for members and $10 for non-members and features interesting speakers and good food catered by food providers who are members of the chamber. Come join us! To reserve, please e-mail the chamber office by Monday noon preceding the luncheon or call 524-4934.
